About Destiny Ministries International (DMI)
DMI traces its beginnings in the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). While cries for revolutionary change reverberated in campus, God raised up a new breed of students ‘activists’ in the 1990s. In June 1990, seven students started a bible study, believing that radical change in society was deeply rooted in individual transformation.
By 1992, small bible study groups were established, which gave birth to a local church, the Sound of His Voice Ministries, Inc. (SOHVMI). More sectors were formed in the following years, namely, the professionals, community, couples, and children’s ministry. Bible studies were also started in neighboring cities and even expanded in Quezon City, a highly urbanized city in the National Capital Region.
In 2000, SOHVMI was renamed Destiny Ministries International, Inc. (DMI) and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Presently, DMI has 11 local churches and 6 international churches. DMI has strong partnerships with other churches and mission agencies such as the Hosanna! Lutheran Church in Minnesota and Global Missions Awareness in Atlanta, USA.
DMI leaders have served as speakers, facilitators or co-organizers in various conferences, training programs, revival camps, and retreats in various parts of the Philippines and abroad. The DMI Family is passionate to serve the body of Christ and the nation of the Philippines believing that raising up God-fearing leaders will bring transformation of the society.
